I remember once that there was a group in Colorado that sold this book. Anyone know if it is still available? I have found the pdf version, but that doesn't count.

Cadastral Consultants has it listed in their bookstore for $90: http://www.cadcon.com/bookstore.html

The title page of the book says it was produced for the PLSO, so you may be able to get a copy through them.

The publisher is :

The Publishing House
A Division of Colorado Word Works. Inc.
P.O. Box 215
7380 Lowell Blvd
Westminster, CO 80030

Or you can buy the copy currently listed on Amazon for about $600.

I spoke / typed in error. I didn't find the .pdf, I intended that I didn't want the .pdf, but instead hard bound.

Regardless, here is a good link to many Survey books in .pdf format

I bought one last year on Amazon. Try there.

Have you checked with the Public Room at the BLM Colorado State Office. I know they had some copies of this book for sale at one point but not sure if they still have copies. I'm sure they won't charge $350 for a copy.

Call the BLM Cadastral Survey office in your area to see if the BLM Public room has the book. I don't know if they will mail you one.

Hey, that's a link to my local chapter's page! They've got a very dedicated webmaster there. And there are some solid surveyors around here that are very willing to share their libraries. Lots of old, unrecorded surveys from decades ago sitting in flat files around this area. And they are slowly getting scanned and shared to others!

The book Initial Points was a joint venture between The Publishing House and the Professional Land Surveyors of Colorado.

My suggestion is to purchase the book directly from The Publishing House. They had an agreement with the PLSC to publish the book and after enough copies had been sold to recoup the printing costs the proceeds from the remainder of the books would go into a PLSC scholarship fund.

Here's the contact info and pricing.

Initial Points
c/o The Publishing House
P.O. Box 215
Westminster, CO 80030
Phone: 303-428-9529
Fax: 303-430-167

Price is $89.00 (quantity discounts available)
