I did a rush survey job yesterday and two of the rear pins fell on the other side of a chain link fence and another on the other side of a wood fence.

I got strong signals where the irons would fall but I also got the attention of two snarling sh!t eating dogs that was not fond of my pin finder or the idea of sticking a shovel through the small opening much less trying to get a shot on them.

Looking to come up with a witty comment to explain the situation.?ÿ

There was an article in one of the magazines several years ago. Seems a granddaddy 'gator was occupying the area where a corner monument was supposed to be placed. The author annotated his map saying the corner was not set because the 'gator was in adverse possession.?ÿ

"Lady, would you put please walk your dogs around the block or restrain them while I look for and locate a monument or two or else they may try and bite and I really would not find pleasure when I call animal control or turn them over to Mr. Baited Biscuit or Colt 45"

Most of the time a knock on the door will find dog owner gladly willing to help and it is even better when your client will appear and do this deed and clear the way for you.

Note: positions only estimated, due to big, mean, slobbering, threatening, hateful dogs, that I'm scared of.

Yeah. When title co calls, offer to let them help... Yeah

"Fd invisible monuments, covered by dirt, and protected by rabid pit bulls, of the guarding variety, if monuments need to be seen, uncover them yourself".

I wouldn't attempt to describe them till I actually tried to recover them.

In the rare case we do an existing lot/block survey, and a situation like you described occurs, we just dig under the fence where the signal is strongest and measure an offset distance to it, if we find it, otherwise we will set a witness corner describing it thoroughly. The dogs will usually shut up after a while unless it's a pit bull, (every redneck in FL has at least 1 pit bull) if it/they are pit bulls we usually leave before they chew a hole in the fence.?ÿ ?????ÿ
