Hi all,
I have been doing loan surveys with a Topcon 815A.?ÿ For the most part it does everything I need then some.?ÿ I use Carlson SurvCE and use 2d mode as I dont need topo information.?ÿ I have had 2 issues.
1.?ÿ Everytime I come back into the office to run compass rule it throws an error (Warning: Pt 104 direct-reverse vertical angles more than 10.0 seconds different) for everything that I double.?ÿ I have checked collimation and everything checks out with the Guns Vertical angle.?ÿ FD FR are within 5" or less of what they should be.?ÿ Is there a setting in SurvCE that could cause bad calculations?
2.?ÿ It seems like angular error increases steadily and that Collimation needs to be done pretty regularly.?ÿ I was also told that I need to calibrate the tracking occasional.?ÿ Does anyone have experience with this??ÿ It seems like its similar to the collimation routine.
It is very common when shooting shorter distances that doubles are not within minimum settings.
There is a setting in SurvCE that will allow you to set the amount that you are willing to live with for the tolerance of the vertical and horizontal angles to differ on their double and other repetitions.
The Manual will tell you where to find it.
