Today is the 200th aniversery of the General Land Office. Happy Birthday GLO! BLM State Offices around the country are holding aniversery events, today the BLM Director Bob Abby will be attending the Eastern States Office GLO aniversery event. The one in Alaska will be on July 4, and we hope to have Director Abby here too. Raise a cheer to our predecessor surveyors who layed out the grid of the PLSS, I bet they could never imagine what development and use of their surveys would be 200 years in the future.
