Can anyone recommend some good surveying companies to work for near Pittsburgh, PA? I may be retiring and relocating from Orlando to the Pittsburgh area next year.

You must enjoy swimming upstream.  The general flow is from Pittsburgh to Orlando at retirement.

I dunno about the working but with these four places you could put together a weekend.

Fish Sandwich https://goo.gl/maps/kiMCAYKJkkpc8voS9

Really well prepared vegan Eastern European Food https://goo.gl/maps/NpiBGYfYNPHou69E9

Great Tour https://goo.gl/maps/44H3gdYBezkyiJ5A8

A really proper Symphony with cool extras at every show and great prices https://goo.gl/maps/qJti1emqeLJ1ZZz3A

Good Luck, there are some big shops around there, some do oil and gas work also.

There are a couple regulars here that work up that way if memory serves.

Holy cow is close, I bet that in the end you will Snowbird. Best of luck

My first mother-in-law grew up in the Finleyville area just south of Pittsburgh.  We stopped by for a short visit once.  When those people say, "Let's go up to the garden."  They definitely meant up.  Dang, I was young, but, those old people were used to taking that kind of hike daily.

If you get up that way let me know. Next time we go to see the wifes folks we will have to meet for lunch or something as we pass through. Her Aunt lives in Washington PA and mom n dad in the Stoneboro area. Yes they allow an old southerner a few days pass once in a while when I am on good behavior.   Before my wife introduced me to her mom and dad she sent them one of those southern dictionaries so they could understand me. I don’t think it works because sometimes they just smile and nod their heads.  I am sure they are spending retirement trying to figure out how they went so wrong with their daughter that she would marry someone like me.  But they are great in laws. I very lucky just good people. Have always treated me very well and been so supportive of us both.

I think you're doing it backwards.

From Orlando to Pittsburgh is going to be a big transition for you if you have never lived in the Northeast.  Winters can be brutal and the pace of everyday life is much faster.  Not may people from Florida move that far north.
