Anybody else having trouble getting the panels to show up on the map?
Thanks
Ed Killough, NCPLS
yes
Yes indeed.....frustrating...the form I am filling out expires on July 31, 2015....I though they were coming out with a new form...
Whole site looks messed up to me.
They extended the expiration date on the form through today. I guess they'll end up extending it again. I don't see a new one anywhere.
I can search the map but the option to view the FIRM never comes up when I click. It's really annoying and I need to send this thing out. Hope they fix it soon....
I have been able to bring up the panels only on Internet Explorer running on Windows 10. Not on my Chrome on Windows 7, or XP machines.

Use Google Earth. Download the overlay and you'll never go back to the slow fema website maps again. (Except for coastal stillwater zones)

Read the announcements on the Map Service Center's home page?

My understanding is that they were eliminating this tool since it required a security protocol that didn't work with the FEMA site upgrade. I can't get that overlay to work on Google Earth anymore.

use this link and redownload the KML for google earth...
https://hazards.fema.gov/femaportal/kmz/FEMA_NFHL_v3.0.1.kmz
This will solve the problem if you are getting the big red X whenever the layout loads. Whenever they release a new version of the overlay you have to download the new one otherwise it doesn't load properly in google earth when opened.

Ah, well, I went back and read the email I got from their help desk (back when the previous kml file stopped working) and they seemed to be saying that there was no "plan for an implemented fix" of the problem.
Once again a Federal Agency has failed in the communication...
Thanks for the updated plugin! I'll be trying this out today.

yea, give it a go. this was bugging me for so long until i realized this and tried it and it worked. the fema site and its 'map center' is unbearable to me.
@rich This link now only says the below, any other solutions?
