Apparently the FAA is scanning internet websites looking for people that use drones inappropriately. I've seen posts on here in the past from surveyors who have used drones to assist on surveys. That's a no-no and big brother is watching.
I wish there was a way to report illegal drone use!
We need to establish a code word for "drone". Just as we refer to a TS as a "gun".
Better yet, the FAA needs to get off their rear ends and modernize their regulations.

Aerial Jihadmobile?
Avian assistant
But as far I know no one around here is using one for surveying assistance.
> Apparently the FAA is scanning internet websites looking for people...
Pikers compared to these guys

:good:
The skies will be full of them before they know it anyway.

I'm thinking "moving target".
Totalitarianism is here!!
ixnay on the onedray
Aerial photography equipment, or APE.
Flies call them files,or gnats or skeeters the data collected is called fly shots
All they need to do is monitor YouTube, etc.
The FCC, NSA, Bear n Bush, Sky Rangers and the rest monitor some frequencies 24/7 and have for a long time.
The FCC has to complete an auction for the highest bidder before they will approve anything.

Dude, you just made me crack up while eating lunch alone at a Taco Bell ... Now everyone is looking me.... Thanks a lot.
Or we could all talk about our extensive use of drones whether real or imagined several times a day until Big Brother decides further monitoring is just not worthwhile. How about monitoring real threats to public safety and actually analysing the data? A surveyor using a drone to complete his work is not a threat to public safety. (IMO)o.O

Sort of like this commercial use /; business.

He was turned into the police in seattle but since they are not FAA nothing happened.

I am not scared. I just bought a second DRONE and love flying bith of them especially the pictures I get that are one of a kind (for now). The FAA is looking for commercial use of drones and if they are smarter than a first grader, a quick google search will show many companies offering the service of aerial video/photographs with drones.
The FAA only has "guidelines" and no laws or rules.
It is too bad those "secure" cell phones cost $3500.
that's right - we don't know anybody using UAV's for anything.
