Ladies and/or Gentleman,

This is Alan's daughter and I have downloaded the Virtual Box that was recommended to us to be able to use the C&G Survey 6.1 program. I am having some issues getting started using it and not sure what I need to do to get the Virtual Box working or to get the survey program in it. If anyone has any information please help me.

Thanks,

Amanda Cook

Having installed the Virtual Machine, you now need to install XP mode on the virtual machine.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/install-and-use-windows-xp-mode-in-windows-7

After that, loading software into the XP part of your setup is pretty much the same as loading it on any other.

Not sure what you're looking for, but this is working for me with stuff that only wants to run on XP: (from an earlier post)

Try Sentinel System Driver by Rainbow Industries (it's a free download). It allowed me to run an old TDS dongle for Survey Link. TDS told me to find an old XP machine as they don't support their older stuff .... it should let you run anything 32 bit on a 64 bit. Had it for 9 months now with no problems. Should fix it for you.

I f you haven't ....

at least downloaded and read Chapter 1 of the VirtualBox manual, you will be lost. You can download the entire manual fro the VB site and I suggest you do that. But start off by carefully reading and understanding chapter 1. VB works, but it's a whole new experience.
