Have noticed this a bunch and it really gets to be a pain. When I save something, some of the time, some of the entities, especially point blocks (but sometimes also linework or text) will disappear. When you hit 'REGEN' it comes right back, but can be a real PITA. Is there some setting I have jacked up or????
Sounds like a graphics card issue. Do you have a discrete graphics card which I believe is part of the minimum hardware requirements?
Different motherboards and cards act differently in dealing with what is loaded and in use on different computers.
There is data swap inside memory module that decides what is on screen and when.
I usually have too much going on with Carlson, WordPerfect, county maps, Google Maps, property search and music going at the same time.
Years ago it was not unusual for a message to pop up saying that I had maxed out my ram usage and to close some programs.
I don't think that could be it as our IT guy built our computers specifically for CAD use, but I could be wrong. I'll ask him. For some reason it appears to be worse in some drawings than others, don't know if that matters or not when looking for a solution.
Purge and audit and then copy everything to a new drawing?

Microsurvey is similar. Latest version of Intellicad.
Blocks aren't issue, rather anything can play up.
I have a Cad specific card but it's a frustrating persistent issue.
BricsCad no issues at all.
I gather you're referring to Carlson Intellicad. I expect it's an inherent Intellicad problem.
I notice the automatic saves trigger loss of detail on screen.
Being so prevalent and so easy to invoke I find it frustrating "the consortoum" doesn't pounce and issue a patch to fix it once and for all.
Will power? Not sure what holds them back?

I don't know about Intellicad, but the symptom reminds me of the AutoCAD switch/environment variable " LEVELOFDETAIL". Does such a setting exist in Intellicad?

I did a little investigation and was advised to try "turning off thumbnail generation by typing SAVETHUMBNAILS and setting it to 0."
