I own a seat of this software (which I used to use in conjunction with Eagle Point). I'd like to pick it back up again for some side jobs. Any recommendations on point import routines or add-ons to import points from ASCII?

Import the points thru the Eagle Point routine, then open that drawing in AutoCAD Map if you must.

Thanks Paul, but I see I wasn't clear. I expect to be without Eagle Point (sneaking suspicion that they won't help me transition it to my new laptop), so I'll be left with naked AutoCAD Map (which I can transition).
