For one of my clients, I'm looking for a program that can do a small foundation plots and import a text file and export a Carlson (.crd).
This is for a concrete contractor looking to load into a robot he purchased.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I don't have any ideas, but do you really need it to be able to create a crd? Can't any program or data collector that can use a crd use a text file??ÿ
Not many people in this business spend much time thinking about cheap programs, or helping those that do. I have owned 3 different EDMs and 1 robot, all with internal programs and never even thought of using them but once. Lost a data collector, tried reading the EDM instructions and bought a replacement data collector within a week. My time is too valuable to go back to little steps that were never well thought out.

They could import the txt file, but they still need to plot the points...
Thanks
Traverse PC
They should be able to create lines and points on the controller. Or have them contact me, I will create the cad lines and points for a few. I do this for a lot of contractors. This is an easy way for all. After they struggle a few times and do it wrong, they will come around.
Traverse PC all the way. You can pick between 3 levels of the software so you don't have to buy features you dont want.?ÿ
It has a small hard drive foot print, small file sizes, and with the license manager for loading o e licence on multiple computers.
I have been a user since 2007 running the Professional edition.

The Personal license of Traverse PC (the lowest-cost version except for the educational version)?ÿ is $60 per month on subscription, or $995 to buy outright.?ÿ I wouldn't call that inexpensive for occasional use.
QuickCogo, by contrast, is only $79 and appears to do what the OP wants, with the exception of creating a SurvCE .crd, which can be done with the free Carlson demo application.?ÿ I've never used QuickCogo, but to my way of thinking the price makes it worth a try.

Along those lines there is also ProCogo.

I looked at that, but the affordability question arises again.?ÿ A single-user one-year subscription is $375, and it costs $199 per year to renew.
It reminds me of a place I worked in the 80s.
The owner's brother in law would come by several times every month or call me an ask how to start the cogo program on his HP41CVX COGO program.
It taught me that sometimes you practically have to open your door and adopt them into your family realm and provice a little support every now and then.
goodluck
You might want to look at PC Survey. It well priced, easy to learn and very surveyor friendly. Learning curve is short. I don't know about exporting to Carlson, but you can export to dwg or dxf. Maybe that would work. Been using it for many years and works very well for me.
