The time has come to clean up some that's nests. Over time we've down loaded "everything" off of various devices when doing updates/ maintenance/ or just making room in recievers.... So, I'm looking for a tool to compare files to find identical duplicates and duplicates file names and compare and let me choose which ones to save and which to discard... Any suggestions.

KDiff3 ( http://kdiff3.sourceforge.net/ ) is an application that I use.

While I rarely use Windoze anymore, when I do I like to have a copy of PowerDesk handy. Info here: http://www.avanquest.com/USA/software/powerdesk-pro-9-500373

When manipulating large projects with submissions from multiple participants with wildly varying computer skills it was invaluable. Renaming, viewing archived files (without opening), finding duplicates, moving and copying were greatly simplified. I have used it since version 4.

Thanks everyone for the info. Now that the holidays are over, I've taken it up with the District IT Guru. She will now consult the
ORACLE/Uber-Nerd/ Mordac...
