Thanks Sergeant! I thought I had seen the command. But there is nothing in the help files.
Some issues we are having I can't seem to resolve are this (didn't know if anyone else had any ideas):
1. Save drawing and close open at a later date and some drawing items have changed to Layer 0?! PITA b/c you have to back and change them. It's not limited to just 1 layer either, it's multiple and I cannot for the life of me find a common thread as to why it's doing this.
2. Printing objects that are frozen. Again, this one's beyond me. Occasionally we've gone to print a drawing and it's had text or symbols etc. that were on frozen layers or set NOT to print in a viewport and yet they still print. Thaw the layer, refreeze and viola!, they don't print! Maybe a bug of some sorts?

Freezer burn?
I had been using 2016 with windows 8 with no problems to speak of, updated to windows 10 and now when I try to delete a layer Carlson crashes. Anyone else seen this behavior?
Sometimes when I copy a paperspace layout from an existing drawing (or drawing template, I'm not sure if it's one, the other, or both) I will get a brand new object inserted at coordinate 0,0 in model space. The new object is usually a leader. At least I think it's a new object, as I have not found any leaders missing from the drawing area, so I don't think any of them got moved there.
Someone from Carlson should really monitor this post...

Yes. I cannot delete a layer without Survey crashing. Purge also crashes it sometimes.
I just bought 2016 a couple of weeks ago. I've sent many crash notices to Carlson since then attempting to delete a layer. I also noticed some copy paste "irregularities".
2016 has some really great features. I'm glad to have it, but it definitely has some annoying bugs.
Thanks for the info folks, at least I know it's not just me.

I second this.
As usual it depends, if your final product is a printed survey map or electronic map then Carlson with Intellicad is a perfect. If you are part of a design team and you are sharing your cad files with an engineer and they are using C3D you need to do the same.
Don't know if any of you are riding the fence; but, Carlson has an "autodesk" trade-in that closes today. You have to have a valid product (read, "valid registration key") for any (I believe) autodesk product.
The price couldn't be beat and I Just picked up Civil Suite. So, How y'all doing?
-no affiliation. just trying to succeed as a solo guy versus a person that makes money to pay for sofware.

There was a trick when using AutoCAD that had to do with OPTIONS-PROFILES- set current...or something along those lines (I am away from the office right now on my iPhone) that helped me with this problem in the past.
ICAD has never liked deleting layers, all the way back to ICAD98 - especially when working with EP. Carlson is much much better in that regard, but I am a little behind on the software, not running the latest and greatest right now.
I just installed MicrosurveyCad 2016 latest SP1
Latest version Intellicad 8.1b.
Supposedly improvement for Quadro cards.
I can't comment too seriously yet other than it still doesn't handle a dwg as BricsCad does.
Bit laggy.
I've a new PC, Win 10 Pro, Quadro K1200 card.
Curious how others find it. Any Quadro users out there?

Thanks Brad.
I found 'Options-Profiles'. There are two options in the dialog box (Carlson & Default). 'Set Current' only becomes active when I select 'Default.'
Am I on the right track?
I just had a strange thing happen. Inserted our title block and when I explode it, several items within the title block disappear. Unthaw all frozen layers, or layers that are turned off, nothing. Ended up having to copy and paste the title block in the drawing to keep from having to explode it. First time I've ever seen this?!

Yes. Something like set a new profile, call it "today" or "2016" or such. Then when you first open a drawing go back to OPTIONS-PROFILES and make that 2016 your current profile...
Is Workspace and Profile the same in Carlson?
Workspace is an option in MicroSurvey 2016 (Intellicad) and also BricsCad.
That saves any customisation including pallets etc.
Then I can Save current Configuration (from Menu option) as a name and finally make that as Default.
It's handy for me if I'm doing modelling and design work to set up the program with my preferences for that, save Workspace as "Design" and then load that as required.
Not sure how much of that is applicable in Carlson but as it's Intellicad based assume similar in parts.
