I have just upgraded to the 2013 standalone, so far it is going fine, but I am having trouble getting the program to remember some settings, specifically my coordinate files are no longer automatically attaching to the project...where do I set that? I have a few other questions but that is the big one.
Yeah, I'd like to know that too, in CS12.
Every time I open a dwg, it says [CRD:NONE]
It doesn't attach immediately, and then when I go to use the coordinates for something, it asks me which file to attach.
try carlson configure project files - data into drawing file
or under config - general settings - link crd file history
Already doing that.
yep still not working
I checked with the Carlson Technical Support staff and was told the issue has been reported, identified, corrected and will be made available with the next public, release-build of the product.
Unfortunately, I don't have any kind of delivery date information at this time. If you'd like to be notified when the release becomes available, you can do so by subscribing to the Carlson notification service at http://update.carlsonsw.com/subscribe/ .
As a matter of clarification on some previous suggestions:
>try carlson configure project files - data into drawing file
This does not address the physical association of a CRD to a DWG. What this operation permits is the importation of points that are in a CRD that might not already be in the drawing.
>or under config - general settings - link crd file history
This option is designed to enable a revision history log on points in the CRD and does not contribute to the association of a CRD to a DWG.
Until an updated build becomes available that addresses the problem, the two courses of action I'd suggest would be to either:
1. Proactively use the Points -- Set Coordinate File command, or,
2. Run some command that requires a CRD file and use the resulting software notification dialog box to identify the desired CRD file.
I hope this information helps.
I appreciate the input Ladd but I just spent a wasted hour on the phone with technical support and they never meantioned this was a known issue at all...and that was after talking to 2 different people and checking a bunch of settings..
I'm running CS12 with embedded AutoCad and it's had a couple of bugs that tech support would be fixed in the next build but they never put out an update...just an upgrade to 2013.
One is an error inserting North Arrows "Specify insertion point: too many arguments :error#0." [sarcasm]I find that I need these once in while[/sarcasm] but I have to just copy/paste from old drawings.
Another bug is it cannot handle multiple station equations in one alignment. This particular issue caused me HUGE setbacks and trouble while working to provide an alignment on a 12 mile highway project. Upon finding the issue, I brought it up to tech support, they duplicated it, and said they would be working to fix it.
The program is great in many aspects but there are many bugs in it.

One reason why I don't mind usually running a release or two behind - wait till all the bugs are worked out.
I am running CS13 on AutoCad Map3d 2012 and I am not having problems with the CRD association. Do you have the "save INI files" checked under Carlson Configure / General Settings? I believe that is what tracks that info.

That did it!
I'm running a beta of 2013 over Icad 7.2 and haven't experienced this issue. I know it's real because I've seen it commented on numerous times going back several versions. I only mention my experience to suggest that, hopefully, this issue has been truly resolved.
I do have that set and it does not seem to work for me...
What bugs me is how the "Line Type Scaler" in "Drawing Setup" keeps getting changed to 0.5 instead of 1.0. I never change that. Agghh
i stuck with 2012 even though I have the maintenance... I thought 2013 would be a good skip year 🙂
There are 2 spots I would check. Under Carlson Configure / Drawing Setup, have you set the LT scale to 1.0 there? The second is under Carlson Configure / General Settings. There is a check box in the left column for "Set LTSCALE on startup to Drawing setup" This caused us a bunch of headaches before we found it and unchecked it.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the response. I always keep the Line Type Scaler at 1.0, and the "Set LTSCALE on startup to Drawing setup" is unchecked. This was never an issue until late in the 2012 builds, and in 2013 as well. It's a random thing.

That worked on mine too. Did you check the ini box, set the crd file, save, exit and reopen?
Ladd,
I see this as a major issue which should be addressed immediately, if I have to choose the correct data folder everytime I open a drawing, each time is a chance to lose/overwrite my points. Please see if they can fix this ASAP, I cannot use the program till they do.
