Pretty hard stuff. So sorry for your loss.

We know how you will miss Cody as Alexandra breeds Goldens similar to your faithful friend and we've had them pass away too.
Cody will always be remembered.
Pax vobiscum.
Alexandra and Derek
I lost one yesterday, it is not easy
So sorry for your loss. :'(
:dog: Cody was a beautiful doggy. RIP Cody. :dog:

So sorry for your loss.
I feel for you, they become a family member, so it's like losing a kid.

God bless you, Sir V., and be with you, too.
You also have us, and this place, to talk to and to lean on.
Thanks for letting us know,
Don
My heart goes out to you buddy.
Two years ago I buried my "good girl" after fifteen years. Ever once in a while I think I still see her out of the corner of my eye. It left a big hole in my heart, for sure.
So sorry to hear that. Pets are as close and family members.
Sorry for your loss.
Ron
I feel for you too. I am teary eyed for your dog just from the picture.
So sorry to hear this. Always a heart breaker......
Time is so short. Take the time to enjoy every minute you can.
Sad Day.
Grieve a while then get a new puppy or three B-)
As you can tell by my Avatar, I understand some of what you are feeling. Not looking forward to the day when I have to change the picture.:-(
Just buried my dog - A Dog's Prayer
so sorry for your loss, never gets easier losing a loved one. hope this poem helps:
A DOG'S PRAYER
Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.
Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your hand between the blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do.
Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footstep falls upon my waiting ear.
When it is cold and wet, please take me inside, for I am now a domesticated animal, no longer used to bitter elements, and I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth... though had you no home, I would rather follow you through ice and snow than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest home in all the land, for you are my god and I am your devoted worshiper.
Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for although I should not reproach you were it dry, I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me clean food, that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life, should your life be in danger.
And, beloved master, should the Great Master see fit to deprive me of my health or sight, do not turn me away from you. Rather hold me gently in your arms as skilled hands grant me the merciful boon of eternal rest... and I will leave you knowing with the last breath I drew, my fate was ever safest in your hands.

We lost ours a few years back. I remember posting about it on the old forum, and received many kind words. I see many here as well. Helped me a lot.
Just remember his life was a happy one, thanks to you.

Few rougher nights than losing a buddy like Cody there.....
May time heal the edges around the hole left in your heart...
I'm sure he'll be missed greatly!
