So, today I had my eye surgery post-op appointment up in Portland. Since it's an hour drive, we'll go to the appointments, then we'll go mosey around Portland for food and fun. There's a pet store my friends kept talking about in Portland that has nice tropical fish so I finally got to go to it after my appointment. (and dinner and shopping and...hey it was my first day of some freedom! 🙂 )

Anyhow...I walk in and of course head on over to visit the ratties. Well, on this rack in the back of the store is this cage with a sign on it that says something about the rat inside has "medical issues", but still would love to have a good home and a family to love it, etc...etc... (You know what's coming, right?)

So, I ask to see this rat. She's a tiny little baby rat, blind in one eye. I pick her up and she immediately cuddles up to me and starts kissing my glasses. Oh boy...sucked me in fast. I ask the guy some info and he said she had been there for 2-3 weeks now. No one wanted her because she was blind and has this cataract looking thing on her eye. She was the "reject". The pet store had taken her to the vets and she got a clean bill of health, but still no one wanted a blind rat. The guy says "Wow she really likes you! You must have experience with rats?" And I show him my stitched up eyeball and he goes "Oh you understand! You have a hurt eye too!! You can have her!" 😀

So I took her home. And...Wendell has already fallen victim to getting suckered in by her as well.

Now we have this sweet mellow half blind baby rat here with no name. Any ideas on a name for this creature? :-S

Talk about the blind leading the blind. :cat:
(where's the Rat icon? Bunnies, cats, dogs- No rats)
What a storey.
He is rather cute.

Perhaps you could name it after the surgeon?

Angel,
She is soooooo cute! Also good to hear you are healing. The two of you belong together:-) For names I know one of the 2012 Olympic mascots was called Wenlock - the mascot is one-eyed.

The answer is obvious. Obvious enough to get me in trouble that is.

Glad to know you are healing well. I was thinking of you, as I had a cancer carved out of my face on the same day. My dogs knew something not so good was up when I got home. They behaved extra gentle and comforting. You have your rats, my bride and I have our dogs, etc.

I know what ya mean...Animals are very perceptive. My cats and rats and even the local squirrels and birds have been hovering and guarding me. Makes me feel special. 😀

Skin cancer? Hope you are better!! I hate cancer!! :pissed:
