?ÿOh I just can??t wait until it gets dark tonight.
I live on a lake and we all have docks where fireworks are ignited. ?ÿAbout 300-400 feet on each side of me are the ??Dueling Monster Brats?, all of whom are Doctors kids/teenagers. They must spend at least $2K on the explosives. I will admit they are beautiful. (the fireworks, not the brats)
The problem is that when one sets off a firework the other one tries to outdo his neighbor. This continues for around 90 minutes. Eventually one side will get pissed off because the other neighbor is trying to outdo him. That??s when the ??fun? starts. The pissed off neighbor then starts aiming his explosives towards his ??enemy?. Remember, I??m right in the middle of the action.
The attacked neighbor immediately retaliates with heavier ammunition which once again provoked the other neighbor who also responds with even more heavily armed fireworks. This usually continues until one of the opposing sides, trying to conquer the other and in their haste accidentally blow up all the remaining fireworks in their armory. ?ÿThen the other neighbor still thinks he is being defeated by a grand explosion aka grand finale and does the same thing.
Great show better than Disney!!

Will never forget flying from Denver to South Bend on July 4, 1978 and hitting the south side of Chicago about 9:00 p.m. ?ÿMile after mile of fireworks viewed from the top down and getting closer as we prepared to land. ?ÿWow!

1978 4th started with Willie Nelson on July 2 in the Cotton Bowl with the official Texas Rangers, the ones with badges, and ended a couple of days later and the badges were still there too.
