If you have trouble logging in and need assistance with resetting your password...
Or if you have trouble registering a new account, like maybe you didn't receive the confirmation email...
Or if you just have problems in general...
...please be nice when asking for help. I can't believe I have to post that at all but there it is.
I've recently gotten some pretty nasty emails for simple problems. Trust me, I mean it when I say something like, "pound sand" in response to one of these rude emails. I don't want you as a user here if you are going to be like that from day one. We value the large number of QUALITY users we have here and I have no problems deleting people that are rude and obnoxious. I'd rather have just a few thousand great users than a few thousand great users plus 30,000 jerks.
Be nice. I'll be nice back. I'll even bend over backwards to help you solve your problem. The system isn't perfect. But that's no excuse for being a jerk.

W speaks the truth. I have seen these fine words of his in action. Please don't "eff" with W, he is my friend. I am a "nice guy", but that just means that when you have bothered a friend of mine, I tend to snap, then things can go nuclear (which I am sure can be a fun show to watch from the sidelines). Anyway, yes...
BE NICE.
I can't believe how rude some people can be.....unbelievable.
Recent examples:
> I didn't get my reset password confirmation. Are you stupid?
My response: Nope, no stupid over here. But don't bother looking for the password now because it won't work anyway. You won't make many friends with an attitude like that.
> WTF?? ALl my emails from you go to spam fix it now or ill go somewere else how dumb
My response: Well, you could have just marked our messages as not being spam or added us to a whitelist. You also could have respectfully asked for help. But it's irrelevant now. You won't make many friends with an attitude like that. P. S. You might want to work on your grammar, spelling and punctuation skills, too.

There are imbeciles out there, there isn't much we can do about it. I would not waste my time dealing with them.
I've never understood why people find it acceptable to be so rude when they post online, saying things that they would probably never say to your face.
I think it's the same thing that causes road rage. When people get mad on the road, they see the car, not the driver. When they get mad online, they see printed text, not the author.

Sorry to hear that!
I wonder if you can write a script or set a filter that deletes any email that sent to your help desk (from this site) that contains any offensive words? Then you don't even have to look at then. Just a thought.
Don't let 'em get to you. Enjoy the weekend! Aloha

Exactly. You hit the nail on the head.

The problem is that their parents failed to teach their kids manners and respect. Today, everyone actually feels that "It IS all about ME". They cannot comprehend that their PEBCAK moment has been caused by their actions and ignorance. Nothing is EVER THEIR fault. Blame it on someone else and move on.
It takes all kinds to make up a world and it takes a village to raise an idiot.
No one forces them to use this site and yet they have the gall to complain about a FREE service. Then some even go to that "other site" and tell everyone that you charge a fee for this site.
You can't fix stupid.
Unfortunately, this all stems from long-term use of bulletin boards from the past that allowed all types of language to be used. This resulted in a culture of abuse. It still carries over to today. This is all done in the name of free speech. Even free-speech has its limits. Especially when it's inflammatory without any good cause. It's only purpose is to cause rage in others. It's something we'll have to guard ourselves against.
I am so sorry Wendell that you have to go through this sort of thing. You and Angel have provided a wonderful service to us. And we thank you.

Be Nice, until it is time to not be nice. -- Dalton
Or as I tell my people: "Always start out nice, we can always get nasty later."
But some Yahoos never learn. Of course I find it enjoyable to bounce their heads off of something really solid, both literally and figuratively.

Be Nice or Leave
There is a New Orleans folk artist named Dr. Bob who has made a lot of cash painting folk arty signs to hang in business establishments
that say "Be Nice or Leave".
I saw two them yesterday in New Orleans.
Some people are not nice. It's only human nature or whatever baggage or negative energy they possess.
Dr. Bob has made a nice living of of them.
> It takes all kinds to make up a world and it takes a village to raise an idiot.
The problem is we have too many villages.:-P
Methinks that might be from someone that is used to living in a state where they do not allow concealed carry.
Everyone is always polite at a pistol range.
