I helped Wendell and Angel on a previous endeavor as an admin. It ain't fun. I only got threatened a time or two but that was enough to ban that one certain individual. I didn't want to do it and W&A were out of town that weekend and I covered for them. When it got personal and direct, that feller was gone [from the site]. I don't recall what this dude's craw was with me but it got personal but I was behind my regular moniker as and admin so I dumped him.
People today have no idea what it means to be a moderator. It's thankless for the most part. Don't pay for squat and you have to deal with idiots.
"BE NICE" How hard is that to be to someone you have never met? Seems to me it is getting worse.
I'm finding people these days saying "give me a smoke" or "you got some change".

I don't think I've ever met a single person that liked to run their mouth that could "back it up". Many people are giants on the other side of an email, telephone, or in a car.
It varies a lot depending on personality (some people are just naturally inflammatory) but, for the most part, surveyors usually have an above-average ability to "talk people down" especially if they have ever been a crew chief. I've had two guns drawn on me in 20 years (and haven't been shot). 🙂
One thing I always like to do in business practices is, if at all possible, meet with the people because the "human factor" really helps with negotiations. I guess some people just aren't as evolved, and if you haven't swapped pheromones and oxytocin then you aren't a person to them yet. 🙂
