Using GR-3 topcon. Browsing the Internet I haven't been able to find tps2rin.

Does anyone know a link to download the utility?
I went to the topcon site, created an account, but only found brochure and PDF files.

Quick check of "The Google" came up with this here:

http://www.hayeshelp.com/downloads/topcon/

While things "look" like its a reputable site, I'd highly recommend sandboxing this while running it for the first time.

TPS2RIN.exe attached, after unzipping. Why in the world Topcon doesn't have something more user friendly available is beyond my comprehension. I guess it gives us old birds a chance to dust off the DOS skills now and then.

Attached files

tps2rin.zip (135.6 KB)

Thanks. The tps2rin that I found on hayeshelp is command line. Wasn't expecting that. And there's a lot people these days that haven't ever typed in "c:utilstps2rin 50203r.tps" execution. Very 1989 Ashtech looking.

If you google "Topcon Link" you will score. Be prepared to surrender all your personal information (or at least some fictitious "personal" information).

Well fortunately the dos ver is good enough.
I can't find Link download. I regestered at 2 topcon support sites, those people are not forthcoming.

Thanks

DOS is not dead!

Try this. I tried posting the downloaded files here but they are too large.

I've been to that page. Registered, and my registration is under review. They'll get back me. Maybe.

I'm on project, company gave me a GR3, no software, and I don't have till Monday.

Thanks guys. I got passed my emergency. And I'm sure others would appreciate a GUI.

Topcon Link: ftp://ftp.hayeshelp.com/topcon/Topcon%20Link/TLink%20ver%208/Topcon_Link_v8.2.3_09_Nov_2012.zip
Nothing to fear from hayeshelp, I built that site. Others should be able to vouch.

The command util does exactly what I needed without any setup, or hassle. And fast.

One more Q:

For opus, and GR-3, what antenna profile does one select?

The antenna profile in the opus menu had several GR3 designators. But is the GR3 a choke ring antenna?

It's a bit fuzzy. I couldn't find a tech diagram of phase center to the bottom of the unit. It's a one-zee, no antenna cable port. About 20 cm from tribrach to antenna.

It's not overly critical. But I thought the ngs antenna menu would've had a more exact descriptor. Maybe I just don't know enough about the GR3 yet.
