After a quick minute of checking out a few of today's topics it seems to me that some of us are working outside our areas of expertise. Let's learn how to use our equipment and the theory behind it before we do anything that counts. Some of the questions and comments today are really concerning.

It is fantastic that we have this forum where we can open ourselves up more than we might directly with our nearest fellow surveyors AKA competitors. I would much rather ask a question and get a collection of answers than ask a question and be belittled for sounding ignorant.

I agree with linebender.... some posts I have read, and this goes back years and on both boards, have been cringeworthy. That being said, I'm glad the posters are coming here and asking... it's one way to get better at what we do.

I agree. Just because I ask a question doesn't necessarily mean I don't know the answer, but I like to hear other people's response. I suspect this is true of other posters here as well.

Holy smokes, and i was just talking about shipping stuff general delivery. Sorry if my ignorance offended you! It must be very difficult to monitor conversations so closely.

1. It is easier to deal with stupid questions than with stupid mistakes.

2. There are no stupid questions but there are a lot of inquisitive idiots.

What concerns me is that your emphasis is on equipment.
Take that however you want, Lord Bender.:snarky:

I will admit my post was kind of a knee jerk reaction. I get caught off guard sometimes by post framed in a way that makes you jump to conclusions that the author is in over their head. Nothing at all wrong with asking questions on a survey forum. Sorry for the offense.

I will crawl back in my hole now.

thanks, appreciate it.

I will likely ask more stupid questions until I get the full training package completed and am sure of what I am doing with the new equipment. But at least I won't wing it and screw it up if I can help it.

You appear to ba a good one, Mr. Bender.
I'm happy that you're here.
I'm sure that I could learn a lot from you.

That which you do not know, the doing will quickly teach you.

Well then, on a lighter note. Is this a male or female species?
