Tomorrow is the deadline for the Early Bird Special!
?ÿ
Looks like an Awesome Program!
There's a lot of names you will recognize from this board; if you've been paying attention over the years...
?ÿ
See you all there!
Dougie
The woman presenting at 3:30 on Sunday could probably take the first five minutes educating the attendees on how to pronounce and spell her surname correctly.?ÿ Maybe allow 15 minutes.
Ah, that takes me back to the day I discovered the website for the Surveyors Exchange -- surveyorsexchange.com ??? ??? ????ÿ
Really??ÿ Roughly $500 for a Zoom seat??ÿ Agreed there are some production costs but gotta be much less than renting an exhibition hall, covering speaker's travel, food, etc.?ÿ And the exhibitor's fees should be bargain basement since they don't have to set up a booth a thousand miles away from their shop.
Count me out, even though it's tax deductible.
NYS conference was virtual this year for the same price as normal conference. Lots of technical issues.
Overall it really sucked and not worth it.
Trzemzalski doesn't sound too hard. I imagine there is a phantom vowel or schwa after the T.
Out city had a lot of Czech and Slovak immigrants a century or more ago. Names with a bunch of run-together consonants are very common here. Mrvicka,Trcka, and?ÿMroch come to mind.
@wendell Back about 15 years ago I was visiting a college friend and saw his company newsletter where they were doing some design work on Interstate 66.?ÿ The project had its own website.?ÿ At the same time there was talk about running Interstate 69 from Indianapolis to the Mexican border, and part of it goes real close to where I live.?ÿ After seeing the website for Interstate 66, which was www.interstate66.com, I decided to see if there was a website for Interstate 69, so I changed the second 6 to a 9 on the work computer.?ÿ Well, let me tell you what, what came up on my screen didn't have anything to do with highway construction.?ÿ Plenty of curves, but no roads.
Yeah... I wouldn't expect conferences this year to be free, but definitely the hotel rental, food, etc should be reflected in the fee.
At first I thought who the hell would seduce a property line? ?????ÿ
Yep, decades ago I was a big conference attendee, spent thousands to attend ACSM (rip) and State conferences.?ÿ The seminars were illuminating and the grooming by the exhibitors was pleasant but the best was hanging around for dinner and the bar with major players who knew their technical sh*t, great fun.
Then it was the same old presenters plying their trade and I'd heard it all before.?ÿ These days Googling for the latest info suffices and going to a conference only makes sense if your boss covers all costs. $500 for a Zoom conference, gag me with a spoon.
@tommy-young:?ÿ Decades ago someone grabbed the URL "WhiteHouse.com", Newsweek ran an article about it and reminded people that the correct address for the government was "whitehouse, gov", but that didn't stop millions of us from checking out what the big deal was. Oops!?ÿ Curves being intersected by straight-aways!
I??m signed up - 32 PDFs for $345 as opposed to $495/24, plus no 800 mile RT to Billings- if I can get the CFEDS to count as CEUs also -that??s more cost savings.... all while in my jammies?ÿ
One great-grandmother lived in such a community in Nebraska when she was young.?ÿ Somehow Schofield didn't fit in with Hruska and fifty other examples of run-together consonants.

Yup...I've been wanted to attend this for a few years $1,700 + travel + hotel & food & bar bill (and they never held it at the Day's Inn).?ÿ This year: $999 and it's spread out over a month for a couple hours at a time midday.

@rankin_file I know several people who use their CFedS as CEU hours. Why wouldn't you?
@rankin_file?ÿ I didn't consider the CEUs angle.?ÿ Point well taken.

& bar bill?ÿ
?ÿ
that alone would blow past $345/$500.
I'll be attending. Any time I can learn new stuff for my trajectory I'm in.
I have two presentations,?ÿ one Monday morning and one Tuesday morning.?ÿ Both should be interesting to the group.?ÿ?ÿ
