We are all flat eathers according to law.

"4. Distances shall be shown in decimal feet in accordance with the definition of the international foot. Distance measurements shall refer to the horizontal plane."

My answer to them has been, "GPS".  It's truly ludicrous to believe that every first world country, all it's engineering and manufacturing related billions of R&D spent and, even more absurd, dozens, maybe hundreds of multi billion dollar commercial corporations worldwide and all their tech staff for decades, generations, would have to have "kept it a secret" from the rest of us as we know that without a valid spherical model GNSS could not function or be calculated to the degree all of them, and much of the rest of the word, rely on every day - for our lives in many cases. If they're unwilling to let you describe that (hopefully more eloquently than I), the conversation is useless.  That'd be a grand conspiracy.

Ptolemy's complicated model of the universe worked, but it was replaced by the simpler model of Copernicus. And flat is way simpler than curved.

Does Occam's Razor not apply here?

The Earth is definitely flat. We can scientifically determine this with a simple coin toss.

If head's, it's flat. If tail's, it's... flat.

Hmmm. So why do we have all of those state planes and that Transverse Mercator stuff?

There is another forum that I frequent that focuses on tractors but like a lot of forums a lot of topics get brought up.  There was a flat earth thread that ran for weeks before it got shut down.  There was a flat earther who started it had dozens of memes and his final answer was “God made it that way”.  He was unshakable.  All NASA photographs were fake.  The woman stranded on the space station had her hair sticking up was using a lot of hairspray for that affect for example.  It was somewhat humorous after a while.

@dave-o

Well, it does take quite a bit of higher mathematics to flatten that curved surface. Sometimes simple is difficult to achieve.

I try at least, to have sympathy for the flat earthers. It must be difficult going through life with such limited mental faculties and lack of critical thinking skills.

Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.
