Hi All,

Im hoping the right person will see this and help a brother out. Ive been surveying around 20yrs and currently work in a subcontractor role doing fieldwork with several companies. Although Id love to talk about partnering up in that role with anyone open to such, this one is a little different. I have a good friend that I helped out on a recombination survey in Sanford NC by doing the fieldwork but neither of the firms I work with can get to the mapping portion of it right now. Poor guys been patiently waiting for a long time so I feel obligated to go the extra mile in helping get it finished up. Its fairly simple and straightforward. He owns 2 adjacent lots in a platted subdivision, one he lives at and the other vacant and wooded. Ive closed out the traverse, staked & located all corners in the vicinity, house, driveway, 2 fences.. Thats basically it. Ive done all the research, have the .survey//.job/.raw// .text files along with sketches and site pics in a google drive file ready to go. So if anyone licensed in NC that could help a fellow surveyor out I would greatly appreciate it and will def owe you one. Im open on the price... you name it. I just need to get this off my plate and my conscien

ce. I have reviews on google and angies list if youd like to do your due diligence on my work. Thanks in advance!

@ricklife

Question:

How do you feel about everyone on this forum filing a complaint against your real estate business/license? (If you even have one?)

Asking for a friend...

The thing that will upset folks is that your work seems to not be under the supervision of any particular licensed surveyor, which is always a requirement for filing a survey.

Saying you staked corners unsupervised is a big red flag.

A license would have to do some on-site checking before they could legally stamp something they hadn't already been supervising.

your real estate business

You can look up the officers of the company and check the NC real estate license site. Maybe I didn't do it right, but failed to find a license for either Rick or Carmen. I get the impression this is not a RE sales company, but a house flipper operation.

If I had a brother with 20 years of surveying experience that wanted to purchase my seal Iƒ??d tell him to get his license. ?ÿI suggest you do the same if you want to offer land surveying services to the public.

Edited spelling but not before Jitterboogie read it. Hahaha

Yeah, not my first rodeo, but I'm not going to outright doxx the guy.

If folks are willing to put Personally Identifiable Information (PII) on the web, and then solicit irresponsibly, they deserve whatever comes their way.

Just hire a surveyor. No one is going stamp your work. It's not rational to think that anyone would do that.

I have an engineering colleague (he recently got his surveying license) that I stamp for, he's better at many tasks than anyone in my office and when he needs help with looking for corners or legal issues with a project he calls me and then I'm in the field for him.

When I need help with a water project or a BFE I call him. But we work under each other's supervision. A rando request for a stamp is frankly insulting.?ÿ

The facebook page for Source Real Estate Solutions says "Also offer Survey Services including..." To advertise this you have to have a license so why would you need someone here to sign off on your work?

I'm not sure why you would need a NC stamp from outside if you're literally advertising one of your services as "Surveyor" - unless, well, as a surveyor in training (20 years?) you never read any of the fundamental writings you have to read in order to become licensed, ie your states' administrative rules describing what the term 'surveyor", "land surveyor" mean and the states' statutes (laws) defining both what it takes to be licensed and what the consequences are for marketing or advertising in any way that you can provide those services without a licensed PLS overseeing the work.?ÿ Usually some hefty fines, but could end your ability to perform your other connected businesses as well.

But I'm sure you knew that.

You've got a couple of firms that you usually work with, but they don't want to touch this; now you're on the internet, fishing for some random surveyor to just stamp your work and walk away?

Good Luck!

Takes some serious chutzpah to go on a survey forum and tell the world that you are offering surveying services to the public without having the appropriate state professional license to be able to offer the public those services and then ask if somebody with such a license can stamp your product based on an Angieƒ??s list review. Feel free to correct me if I got any of that wrong.?ÿ

Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.

Based on the reviews I read and his website this guy needs to be turned into the Board.

Is North Carolina a recording State? It appears he has "set" several property corners on other projects.

Reading the OP it looks like this project has already been "staked". With whose caps I wonder?
