Gary or Detroit?
Those photos do remind me Gary, Hammond and East Chicago.?ÿ Where you would dig and dig only to find slag, you'd find that one remaining offset rail and everyone asking why you are taking pictures of them.
The future of America? Islands of luxury amidst the wasteland.
When new to Baltimore I would be shocked at the extreme differences in residential areas over the span of a few blocks. Driving from JHU toward Elliott City (pre-GPS routing) was quite informative. I grew to like Baltimore but left over a decade ago.?ÿ
BTW, the glittering structure beyond the fence and barren ground is Trump Tower.?ÿ
I was seeing the three foot lath bag, with four foot laths, as the dystopian metaphor here. Which just leads to a much suppressed rant about allowing the office people to go out and buy field equipment .. I'll leave it alone.
Boy, you shore do know how to phish for a sucker like me with a thread title like that. ?ÿBeautiful photos. ?ÿPoetry.

The field guys can order whatever they want...all they have to do is ask for my credit card. ?ÿ
That is the personal lath bag of the "Corporate Director of Monitoring, Instrumentation, and Surveying" who was out from behind the desk swinging the hammer.?ÿ ??ÿ

One of the fringe benefits of this site is the local pit beef place that's five minute away for lunch

I particularly like the placement of the lath in the detritus of the post modern dystopian wasteland( and future housing...?ÿ 😉 )?ÿ

I worked for a geophysicist that gave me a 500k limit Amex Card.?ÿ I asked what would happen if I went out and bought a plane.?ÿ He calmly replied" just make sure where ever you fly off to in it, doesn't have extradition.?ÿ ?ÿGood bosses are hard to find.

Actually that part of the site is going to be a 640' x 2640' distribution center. ?ÿ
Howdy,?ÿ
I miss Maryland crab cakes...
Lots of gentrification in the historic working class neighborhoods.?ÿ
I was seeing the three foot lath bag, with four foot laths...
My way of seeing this is that 3 foot laths are quite sufficient to do the job.?ÿ
I was surprised to see that the robot wasn't green or yellow, but then at the same time I saw this on YouTube (NZ car crash):
Many times I have had to get creative to be able to stand a lath because of the hard ground would not permit one to be pounded in without being destroyed.
A drill with an auger or rock bit and even placing a bracket on bottom of lath and drive spike has been needed.
Thursday we had open faced breakfast soft taco style in Daingerfield that will definately be repeated, was devine.

The corporate equipment is green; when we need another robot I bring mine in. ?ÿ

35 points over 80 abandoned acres that need to be found by a drilling crew. ?ÿI'm not sure that illuminated telephone poles would be sufficient 🙂
Looks like?ÿChernobyl to me.?ÿ ??ÿ
Very common landscape for anyone in the urban tentacles of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic area for many decades. Fairly common all around the nation now. On Facebook, there are group pages for abandoned locales. Usually by states and areas. I follow a few in my region. Lot of trespassing going on. Some photographers specialize in the dystopian images.
Here is the Abandoned Maryland page for Facebook users.
