How are things in your neck of the woods?
I'm in Atlanta and things are steady. Still riding the ups and downs but in general we have been able to stay steady since the first of the year.
Most of my peers that I talk with are about the same. Not breaking the bank this year but better than last year.
Fees are still in the toilet. Nearly everything I get is ultra competitive based mainly on price and how fast you can turn it around.
It is good to hear that things are picking up around Atlanta Snoop. I worked around Atlanta for years before the bottom fell out and I had to move north for work about the time I got my license. I had always hoped to get my license and go out on my own. Now I have two licenses and will hopefully have two more before the end of the year but still working for someone else, just glad to be making a paycheck.
Sounds very similar here.
For the past month we've been out straight - we're now slowing down a bit, but there is still a steady stream.
Been busier..and have had more employees. But it's steady and the lights are still on and there's still a couple of vehicles that need gas every day...life is good.
Hardly a day goes by that I don't give out at least two quotes, so I'm assuming they're price shopping. Some I get, some I don't. Must be right in the middle somewhere.
Today, about 4 weeks. Tomorrow, who knows.
Pitiful, very pitiful here.....

3.8 weeks?
It comes in waves...right now the waves are closer together than they were last year..but its nothing to get to excited about.
Keeping the wolves away from the door but nothing to write home about and certainly not staffing up.
Mr Shepp
Your name sounds familiar, are you in Charles Town?
If so, I think I interviewed with you about nine or ten years ago, but I wasn't licensed yet and you were looking for an Maryland License (if I remember correctly).
Mr Shepp
Yes, I am one and the same, and it's Mike, Mr. Shepp was my father.
Quite busy, mostly ALTA surveys, many with topo. Not like the glory years, but way better than the last two years.
I'm getting very buried at this time. A good mix of big and small surveys and projects.
May have to turn down work soon.
Six weeks ago, things were slow.
Can't predict in this climate what will happen next.
I have had a steady workflow for about 6 months now, mostly small jobs. Some of them are results of the April tornados. However, I have nothing line dup for next week. Being solo, I will survive.
Sucks.
Residential and commercial construction layout picked up nicely, but boundary and subdivision work is slow.
Rolling along with standard boundary jobs. About the right pace for my available time.
ZIP ! NADA ! ZILCH! SOMEBODY'S FIXIN' TO GO HONGRY!!
