Down here in the Great State Of Chatham in Coastal Georgia, we sweat a lot, and we get pop-up rain showers most every other day. You can cut the humidity with a machete. I have gotten water (or sweat) on the screen of my Carlson Surveyor 2 collector, and it just freaks out. It appears that it issues multiple commands, and just goes off into the weeds. Some times I can bring it back to reality by continuously hitting the escape button, and sometimes I have to do a re-boot. To be a little more precise, it appears to open multiple screens and prompts almost all at once. I figure that it is a function of water (or sweat) creeping into the side of the touch screen and triggering the issuance of commands. Anything I can do to fix or work around this? Not sweating is not an option. Many thanks for your assistance.

Apply RainX on Screen (works on screen protectors also)
The sweat drops act as your finger or stylist. It was explained to me that when you touch the screen it majically registers that action and a sweat drop does the same thing.?ÿ
Carry a sweat rag is all I know to tell you. I might give the screen protector a try.
People with good sense avoid Savannah in the summer as it is more humid than the inside of a sauna and hot as an oven. And also very few people outside of the area will know the reference to the Great State of Chatham.
Is it still having issues? Stick it in a bag, or tupperware container, surrounded by rice.
Like Steven said; carry a sweat rag. wearing a bandana/Do rag will help too.

I never let my barber touch the data collector.

There is a setting under the windows OS for that. I think it's under settings/screen stylus options, has a water setting. I heard it helps out in the rain.
try: Settings>System>Touch>Water
it helps-----------a bit
Try stuffing it in a ziplock bag.
Thanks to all the replies. I changed it to the water setting, so we'll see how that works.
The only other place hotter than Savannah is Augusta. It may be just my imagination, but man, it's hot there.

I have never liked Augusta and feel like they British should have been allowed to keep that butt ugly stinking place as a consolation prize.
