Based on one of the specific areas named this must be in western Pennsylvania.

40' topo, that means it much rougher than it would seem looking at the contours, it always softens up the hills and valleys.

I have a copy of that "map" somewhere.

A true classic.

The first time I saw that topo was on Andy Johnson's facebook page a day or so ago and the preview picture was clipped. I could see the "twin peaks" and the naval reserve and thought I was looking at a contour map of Edvard Munch's "The Scream"

These were sold back in the 80s by several "suppliers" in the Northwest. This was the Pre-Internet mail order days, and I remember seeing it listed in one of the catalogs. I had it on my office wall for many years, but I'm not sure where it is right now (I still have many boxes of "stuff" from my 2006 move, that haven't been opened yet).

It too a while to decipher the "Fox Canyon Outlet" text in Beaver Valley.

Cow, there are no section lines in PA.
