Apparently not my week when it comes to data collectors. First the 48 issue now this. Well here goes...
I can download data from the TSC3 on several of our PC's. The party chief can't download to his laptop. I have installed the latest versions of ActiveSync, Trimble Data Transfer and Trimble Access Installation Manager on the laptop. The TSC3 will connect to ActiveSync, but not to Data Transfer. When I run the Installation Manager, it says that it cannot download the update, check the network connection. The network connection is good. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have a TSC3 and have had MANY problems with it. It's awesome when it works right...but I should have waited a year for Trimble to exterminate bugs...every time ours gets wet, it won't transfer data for a few days.
Anyway, can you transfer to a USB disk, then to the computer...I know it's not a permanent fix, but it might help in a bind.
I don't have a TSC3, but on the New TBC, it doesn't use ActiveSync, but Office Sync or something else that I had to learn. At any rate, the Trimble website had it for download.
Also, my rep told me that if you had a TSC3, then the dc wouldn't talk to TGO (if that's what he has and everyone else has TBC).
idk, but seems like Trimble is making crap way harder than it has to be.

I believe you were told wrong - I helped someone here in town connect a TSC3 running Trimble Access software to TGO just last month.

Glenn is right....you can download a TSC3 running Access to TGO....
You just can't use the "Survey Controller on ActiveSync" option...as it is not Survey Controller...
You have to use or create and then use a device called "General Survey"
As for the original poster's issue...might be Trimble's server is having issues...as TAIM is a cloud based utility.
