Hello !

Have anybody of you encountered the following error on Trimble TSC2 : "Loose battery screw detected. Tighten the battery screws to avoid power loss."

If so, how did you solve it ?

I've read some topics about this error, but nobody told how he fix it !

Thank you!

?ÿ

I haven't seen the error message, but I have had to remove and reset the battery in the field as a way of "unsticking" a frozen up TSC2 - effectively a re-boot. I guess the error message is generated by the unit detecting a poor battery connection.

The battery box is at the base of the TSC2, under the bottom end of the arm strap. Either side of the strap anchorage are large slotted head screws which can be undone with a coin. These two screws hold the battery unit in. Check they are tight and not loose. That may be the cause of the problem.

Failing that the message must refer to a screw(s) inside the unit. You can undo the main screws and the battery unit lifts out attached to the strap. Check that all the internal screws are tight. (This doesn't loose data as long as you don't leave it out for too long - as I say I have done this on several occasions in the field over the years to re-boot a unit.)

Hopefully that will solve the problem. Otherwise it's a trip to the service agent.

Thank you Chris for your message!

I have checked all the visible screws and all are tighten. I have removed the battery?ÿ and I putted back, but the error message is still there. Probably I'll have to send the unit to a service agent.

Thank you !

Maybe a bad battery? I would try cleaning the contacts with an eraser too. I have never seen that error. Also, pull the battery and leave it out overnight. That has helped with tsc2 issues in the past.

Good luck!

I would guess your battery is failing. They are out of production, be prepared, you may have to say goodbye to this TSC2

?ÿBattery is not very used so I don't think this is the reason for that error. I've talked with somebody else and said it might be an error from the motherboard . I'll let you know if I'll find the cause .?ÿ

I remember someone on this forum suggested to remove the battery out for 12 hours and then charge it fully.?ÿ This helped when I had issues with mine. There's still lots of places that sell new batteries for TSC2
