the little plastic part that locks the factory tribrach to my s5 broke. Dealer says i need a whole new tribrach for $300 of course. I know another guy that his broke also. Considering getting a leica tribrach for a replacement. Will a leica tribrach fit the S5? I'm pretty sure they fit the S6 but maybe not the S5.

I"ve always considered all tribrach to be interchangeable.

When a slide lever broke on my prism setup, I would simply tighten it with my finger.

I have six Seco tribrach that I would sell for?ÿ $300 plus shipping.

Don't see why it wouldn't fit. We use all Leica tribrachs with our Trimble equipment. Can't beat a Leica tribrach.

It will fit.?ÿ

I will take this opportunity to recommend that you spend a little more and get a really good tribrach. Tribrachs and tripods have a lot more to do with quality data than most people think.?ÿ With a good combination you will find that your instrument "holds zero" a lot better and turns tighter sets of angles.?ÿ Plus high?ÿ quality equipment will give you more years of service. Cheap in the long run.

ordered a Leica GDF321 from the Leica dealer. It was only $290, cheaper than I thought. Dealer said it was $400ish but they just dropped the price.
