I don't know but I'd do it for $599.99 and that includes travel costs from WA.
Might be a good bargin. As a Town you might qualify for ALL SORTS of Federal $$$$ and Tax Exemptions.......
a) You don't even want to think about doing the paperwork
b) The payout is probably proportional to population.
town SOLD> Fenced in!
BUFORD, Wyo. (AP) - A town advertised as the smallest in the United States has sold at auction for $900,000.
Buford, Wyo., is located between Cheyenne and Laramie in southeast Wyoming. Two unidentified Vietnamese men placed the winning bid for the town on Thursday.
As owners of the town along Interstate 80, they will get a gas station and convenience store, a schoolhouse from 1905, a cabin, a garage, 10 acres of land, and a three-bedroom home.
The town has had just one inhabitant, Don Sammons. He plans to retire from his unofficial title as "mayor" of the unincorporated community and managing his businesses, and move on.
The town traces its origins to the 1860s and the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad and had as many as 2,000 residents before the railroad was rerouted.

Drove by there this a.m. and saw the herd all lined up for the auction. Butts up against I-80 r/w and the pins are in! I'd freshen it all up for around $2K. The place burn't down a few years back and insurance fixed it all up. Actually has a good view around the area with Vedauwoo and the elk cross by all the time. A few good fishing spots within 10 mi.

I'm sorry, when I first read that I pictured the herd with their butts up against the I-80 r/w.:-)

What are you sorry for? That's exactly the way it was. Do you need a definition of the HERD?

Is Lost Springs still a 1 population town?
town SOLD> Fenced in!
Leonard,
Last time I went through there, it was bustling with people...I saw at least three people there.

> Do you need a definition of the HERD?
No, not that so much as an explanation of the meaning of this sentence:
"Butts up against the I-80 r/w and all the pins are in."
From what you're saying, it means that the butts of the HERD are up against the r/w and all the pins are...what?...in their butts?
🙂
Don
Survey???
"We don't need no stinking survey!"
Lost Springs population
Leonard -
The WYDOT sign proclaimed the population of Lost Springs as 4 when I went by there on 03 March 2012.
I have a couple of lasting memories of Buford -
Spent a month there one week in January 1976 rebuilding some gravel-screening equipment. Every day the wind blew hard enough to blow the hay out of a horse. One night that week the wind derailed a train that had too many empty boxcars.
Then in May 1979 my last motorcycle wreck that required hospitalization occurred just north of Buford on the road to Vedauwoo.

Lost Springs population
Glenn:
That's the only way to travel from Cheyenne to Laramie or vice versa. Get up on top and let the wind blow you on into town. 😀
Lost Springs population probably varies. In the 60's, 70's and 80's when I used to go through there, it would be 1 or 2 population
Makes you wonder about how the auction ever got that high. Seriously. Surely not worth over $100,000 tops.
That depends. I'm not familiar, but if it's the only town for a long ways. A person could make a killing on gas, and snacks.
