I ran into a problem today with topsurv on a FC2500, I was just getting ready to shut down for the day and the FC kind of rebooted on its own, that was ok but then when I try to start TopSurv up again the splash screen comes up and then it gives an error without opening ...it says "the following error occured: Unknown Reason" then I hit ok on that and it goes back to the desktop? Anyone have something like this happen before?.

Once or twice. If I don't do the hard boot (Hold down on the green power key for ten seconds to shut off) a couple times a month, then I have problems like this.

Every Monday morning,I reboot my Topcon FC2500 and Trimble TSC3 data collectors.

This seems to help with any communication problems.

I did a hard reboot a few times, and I also do that 2-3 times a week depending on how things go. It didnt seem to help right away...but..

I guess it fixed itself, after trying it a dozen times, recharging the batteries, asking the sales guy about it (no help there) it now works ok and worked good all day yesterday. Some kind of software glitch?
