We purchased a Topcon PS-103a with a Ranger 3 that has Survey Pro Version 5. In the instrument settings the Topcon PS-103a is not available for brand and model, because it is not supportted. The salesman said we needed to set for a Sokkia Robotic ( Brand ) , SRX ( Model ) which is similar to the Topcon. From day one the Ranger will crash 3 to 4 times a day on the intial setup or I can stake out for a period of time. But it will always crash and send me back to windows. Which I have to reopen project each time. Its very frustrating, Spectra will not give me any support and the salesman has no clue.. I need some feed back from anyone, who has experience or knowledge of this system.

Is it survey pro 5.5.2 or newer early versions eg. 5.0 and 5.1 had issues with large files either way I would reload survey pro in the newest version
I have uploaded the newest version and it still crashes. My road file is not that big 3000kb. On my initial setup when completed, as I'm head back to the instrument from my back sight, it will crash and go to windows. When I try to initialize connection in survey set up again, it will try to connect but just gets stuck in a loop...never connecting. So I have to do a hard boot and start over. Open project, go into survey set up, which it will initialize connection and I can do my set up. I can go into stakeout and work. But it will always crash and opens in windows. Therefore losing my set up and having to start all over. Very frustrating.
Spectra Precision Survey Pro is no longer supporting that particular instrument. We have made the pair but experienced the same issues plus others.
Could you please explain your issues that you have encountered.
Had the same problems...switch to Carlson SurvCE. They support it and it runs better.
