I've seen on other posts and articles that some people are able to go online with their smart phone while out on a job and look at a plat or deed. My local register of deeds website requires you to have Java loaded on your computer in order to view the documents, which I do on my pc in the office. However, Iphone, Ipad, Ipod, Nook and a couple of other devices that I have tried will not let you download Java, so I can go to the register of deeds website and look at the index from them, but cannot view the document. Has anybody figured out how to get around this?

I use a laptop linked to an iphone providing a personal hotspot.
Landman,
I have a Windows phone and I am not sure if it will work. Send me a link to the website and some brief instructions to access a plat and I will try it for you.
While I dont have an iPad, I have heard about puffin in the past as having java capability.

From what I briefly read you need to get the "pro" version but this "should" allow you access to the files on the counties site.
GL w/ it.
