As part a much larger project, "we" tied in a few BLM Monuments around one of the Sections that need to be "tied in."
The BLM retraced this Section in 2007, and the "BLM Record" shown below, is right off of the Official Plat thereof.

In fairness to the BLM (and to keep it simple), I have reduced our RTK results (Latitude, Longitude, Ellipsoid Height) to PLSS Datum "True Bearing/Distance," and show our results at the same level of "precision" as the PLAT (Distances to .001 Chains, and Bearings to .1 arc-minutes).

We haven't tied the West å? Corner yet, but I have a pretty good idea where to look for it!

It seems to me that with good procedures (clear sky view, etc.) a section breakdown is an ideal application for RTK, as the lines are long enough that RTK-level errors won't materially affect the scale of the lines involved.

For the sake of curiosity, how long were the RTK occupations, and were there redundant occupations?

These were SINGLE 3 minute (180 epoch) observations.

I prefer "dumping" the antenna and re-initializing (two observations minimum), but my involvement in this project is (for the most part) as the "processor of data." I did however spend a [LONG] day out there with my choke rings during the initial CONTROL portion of the Project.

2007?

funny how when they finally started to use GPS things got really tight.

Returning their own plat with completely record dimensions will work for most any section I've been in with their new procedures.

Although I do see that .1'

While its good to see that your measuments agree with BLM I hope you dont actually just use their record information.
