Was asked by a long time client to perform a boundary survey on one of their properties. This was a few weeks ago and in the mean time the rain decided to come to the high desert of the front range. This is what i saw when I arrived on site this morning.
The adjacent river bank had failed and filled the site which is comprised of several pits which are normally empty.

The site foreman tracked me down and we went to the downstream side of the pit to see what conditions were like. He has been up for several days putting out similar fires at other sites.

This is small compaired to what is going on further up in the hills.
Here is a historic gaging station in Juelsburg, CO.
Juelsburg is pretty much the last town along the South Platte drainage before you leave the state. I found this station while survyeing an easement along the river bottom. The news tonigh said the river should crest at 11 feet at the newer station at the bridge about 600 feet upstream from this one.

Where are you, son?
Im on the baseline and Hwy 85
Did your daddy raise a bright'n?
Bright? Time will tell.
All I can say is wow!
Oh, sorry, I missed that one of the pictures was in Julesburg.
Blue skies, so it stopped raining?
The Colorado floodings made it to the news even here in Belgium.
Keep it safe
&
thanks for sharing the pics.
