Hi Guys,
I need office software for land survey works; i'll need it to calculate:
traverse adjustment, contours, volumes, sections, profiles, base lines processing...
In my previous company I used TBC advanced, but since I am starting my own business, TBC is extremely expansive for my small budget.
I contacted Carlson dealer, I he sent demo of Carlson survey, and he told me that soon they will have something new for GNSS processing.
Its seems to be very good and reliable and in a fair price.
does any one has a word to say about Carlson survey?
is there any other recommendations about different software?
I have to mintion that I will be using S3 and R8 equipment.
thanks

Carlson is very good software and a very reliable company. It's in common use here in the US. I recommend that you go the extra money for the AutoCAD imbedded version if you can -the IntelliCAD is still buggy.
I can't comment on any GNSS product they may be coming out with. But their reputation says it will be a good value.
Are you using a ACAD engine or the one that comes with Carlson (ICAD)? Other than that I love the software. It works well with ACAD. Been using it since 2010 and I love the low subscription fee to get the latest updates. They are also very good about helping you with issues. ICAD is good, but lacks in some areas.
Carlson Survey with embedded AutoCAD is as good as it gets. Everything you need to do can be done quickly and easily in Carlson Survey. My company was on AutoCAD LDD but when they combined everything into one package we were no longer getting a good return on our money.
The transition from AutoCad LDD was fairly easy and the initial setup of the software to do all the things you will want to do is a one time thing. Once you get everything configured the way you want it, you will find that jobs take anywhere from 1/2 to 1/3 the time. (At least the results that I have seen in our office.)
The Carlson resellers are usually pretty good at helping you get setup and working. The Carlson Help Line is second to none and they have a discussion group on their web site where you can get answers to your questions in addition to their internet center.

"...something new for GNSS processing." should appeal to the beta tester in you.
We use TBC, Access, and C3D Design Suite here.
Go with what you know...TBC. How much is your time worth?

Carlson is not as big on making users be Beta Testers as AutoDesk. Generally, things work before Carlson releases them. At least that is my experience and is based on useage and a promise from Dave Carlson. So far, his word has been pretty good.
The software you suggest is good, but does not meet his budget restraints. Your list is a VERY high dollar package that most people just starting out just cannot hanle.
His bottom line is cost. Period. The Carlson Survey package fits his needs to a "T". The economics of the situation is THE reason that my company, not a small firm by any definition, switched from AutoDesk to Carlson. We can do everything we need to do and provide a compatible product to our end users for about 1/3 the software costs. THAT is the bottom line.
