RBNC4 = rebar, no cap, 1/2"
RBNC5 = rebar, no cap, 5/8"
AC2-1234LS = 2" aluminum cap with license number
YPC4-1234LS = 1/2" rebar with yellow plastic cap and license number
YPC5-1234LS = 5/8" rebar with yellow plastic cap and license number
Tweak the description as needed. Certificate of Surveys and corner records get a legend describing the abbreviation. For PLSS corners that use brass caps, copperweld, bury type posts, stones, etc, all get a more detailed description. The common every day survey monument found around here get the descriptions found above.

I see that one quite a bit, and use it "in house."
I prefer a little more detail (or verbiage) on a Recorded Plat.

"Found original GLO brass cap, 0.6 up, stamped 'SUITABLE FOR GPS OBS.'"
TRUE STORIES - PLAT AVAILABLE IN PUBLIC RECORDS: (in rugged, mountainous terrain, original GLO 1878)
- "Found 2" aluminum cap, LS XX, 1994, 3/4" rebar, 1/16 corner, out of position by 0.91'. After careful consideration, accepted as Witness to the corner. (by company using GPS in 2010).
- "Found x cap, supposedly dating back to the 40's, and supposedly controlling the layout of several metes and bounds properties. We can only find records dating back to 1972, including a recorded subdivision utilizing this monument. Can not prove this was set by the original surveyor of the patent. Accepted as center 1/4 corner by 4 local surveyors since 1972. Out of position. After careful consideration, rejected as the center 1/4 corner".

Silt fence not found?
"Found 2"IP, concrete plug and tag LS---- per (Tract Map), flush. Also found rebar & plastic cap LS----, overlapping 2"IP, no reference, because I assume they were too embarrassed to file." I originally typed the description above before editing to read just "no ref" for County submittal. Sometimes it helps me to vent through the keyboard before cleaning up the record for submittal.

Whoops, hope that's not the case here. After finding the point, I took it to be steel rod. The older map I was following depicted it to be on line with a found monument symbol, I honored the position even though it made a very slight angle in the line I was surveying.
