Any Beerleggers attending the Illinois conference? I decided to drop in for the new "Illinois Boundary Law" book release.
>New Illinois Boundary Law - The Northeast Chapter has been working with Jeff Lucas to produce the new law book. Mr. Lucas will present several sessions based on the book during the conference to gegt you acclimated with the details. In addition, those registering for 2-days or the full conference will receive a copy of the book with their registration. Copies will also be available for purchase at a special conference rate.
I'll be in need of some serious after-hours shop talk.

Nice... But just a we far for me to make it. Cheers.
My young colleague may be going because he is from southern Illinois and got his degree from SIU.
He is definitely interested in Jeff Lucas's new Illinois book.
Six hours from the nearest point in Illinois so I think I'll miss it, too. Two different sets of great-great grandparents lived in Illinois so might find it interesting to attend.
I'll go order three Barmen Pilsners down at the bar in Golden, and bring them with me if they're poured in time. Otherwise, I might not make it there. 😉
Have fun.
Last year Brian Unger from "How the States got Their Shape" gave the keynote address. I didn't get to go. I won't be able to go this year either. Although I will say this. If I go to many more Jeff Lucas seminars, I'll be accused of being a stalker.
I'll be there tomorrow but I'm not attending any of the Lucas presentations.

I'm here... stop by the Carlson booth and say hello! 🙂
I thought I saw you coming down the escalator, but I thought "That can't be JB, he's not speaking". I went down Wed. so I didn't see your post. Mr. Lucas was the source of some very spirited conversations both evenings. I did talk about the electronic seals/signatures with the outgoing president and where we stood with that initiative. He suggested I take that cause on. I may be calling you for advice once I start digging into this (in all my free time).
I also sat in on Steve Parrish's talks; you guys have some interesting situations out west.
Sorry I missed you Rob. Call any time. Be happy to make suggestions for a legislative proposal.
Jeff's always good for stirring up some spirited conversation. The Northern Chapter boys did a bang-up job with the book release. That's the way it ought to be done! What a great tool to put into the hands of practically every surveyor in the state. I was very impressed with the quality of the material and the presentation. It'll be generating commentary for years to come.
Great conference!

I wish I could of made it. It would of been nice to meet a friend of Bob Y.
I supposedly have one of those books coming to me. For a deal on the price from what I understand. A colleague of mine picked one up for me.
Quite the deal for the library. "Free" to registrants, $50 at the conference, then the price goes up to $125.
This is probably the first time I have traveled and did not bring my laptop. I know I could check the board on my phone, but I just went a few days without even getting on the net.
That sucks. I could have met JB Stahl and missed out!
