They haven't got any money out of me for years. Still using Survey 2010, still using SurvCE 2.6, and the Carlson Mini is still kicking butt. I have no real reason to update any of it as it still does what I need now. So I kind of feel sorry for them...I want them to remain successful and I think Leica (yes Leica!) and Sokkia, should be applauded for making even their most up to date equipment compatible with Carlson. My equipment loyalty is dictated by whether they work with Carlson or not.
But when their software remains vialble for years, you wonder how they make any money?

I know what you are saying. They sell great products. I update on occasion just to stay current. They have great loyalty from those that have switched. Just got the new Carlson surveyor 2... Really nice with Survce.

I have to agree with you. Software works and the support is awesome. And the cost to keep up with the latest version is significantly less than any other CAD Software addition. Don't be afraid to move forward.

I would think Carlson makes money from people like you convincing people like me that Carlson is better that renting software from people like Autocad or Trimble.

I wonder how much longer it will be before Trimble buys Carlson? Leica grabbed Microsurvey - so it only seems natural. o.O

Oh how I miss Carlson. I even miss eagle point. Now I have a love/hate relationship with Civil 3d.

> I even miss eagle point.

Years ago I had the Eaglepoint ProSurveyor Plus. I kept getting calls to upgrade and finally decided to do it. Several of the things ProSurveyor Plus did were not included in the new version of Eaglepoint without buying an additional module. Seems like it was Contours, Quantities, and a few other things, I don't remember exactly. I insisted they include those modules and they finally did. I still liked the ProSurveyor Plus better.
