I hope there are backups of the data.
When the batteries in the HP go dead the cards without good batteries in them will get lost.
I have several working HP48GX with SMI and only one battery card.
All the others get power from the batteries that power the calculator.
It is a must to download data on a daily basis and keep them turned off when not in use and between setups and to have an ample supply of triple As to replace them.
The battery replacement must take no more than 20 seconds or data may be lost.
When the 48 is turned back on you can pick yes on recover data and at least with SMI, Job1 will be restored and maybe more, but not necessarily. Without Job1 being there, SMI card will not work.
Most of these same rules apply to TDS as well as other cards that fit the same slots.
If you're changing the battery in the card:
Leave the card in the calculator with the calculator on. Remove and replace the battery. The calculator will keep the memory from wiping if you fumble / drop the battery.
