11 miles to the County Clerk's office of my County, nothing available on line for my county.
The former County Clerk, now the County Administrator had stated that she will not allow any records to be available on line (She cites privacy concerns). So here we are in the 21st century still driving to the Court House, Paying the County to park, Paying the County to make copies from bound books. Most other Counties in New Jersey are on line and a pleasure to work in.
It is usually a 15-20min drive
Starting next week it will be a 2week wait as the clerk is returning and moving back to the oldest operational courthouse in Texas.
The town and Historical Society of Texas have completely restored the Courthouse.
30 miles and nothing is online. They will email if you can tell them exactly what you need. Same cost as copies in the office, cheaper than time and fuel. I don't see this changing either for maybe a decade or so (unless there is an upset in an election). So for me probably never.
The next courthouse is about 50 miles north in Utah County and just about everything is online for free. So it is actually closer (timewise and costs) but I don't do much work in this county.
250 feet and hardly anything on line.

To the courthouse is a 15 minute drive plus whatever time it takes to park. returning to the office takes about 25 minutes because I-20 eastbound in my area is completely closed for reconstruction. In a few months, that will be reversed.
About 870 Feet.
20 minute ferry ride, only $3 round trip with my new seniors card. Then 20 minute safari (truck with bench seats) for $2 each way. then 10 minute walk each way. Usually 1 hour of waiting somewhere. Or else on the car ferry I can usually go round trip in 2-3 hours but its $50. Life on a island is great, but working isn't.
Up until 4 weeks ago it was a 7 mile trip to the courthouse. Now we're in town so it's within walking distance. Much more convenient, especially given the fact that I'm somewhat absentminded and sometimes need to grab that one missed document.
Was across the street. Now it is a block and a half.
Nearest is 11 miles. But, it is within a few blocks of my primary grocery store, dollar store, gas station, tire repair, mechanic, bank, etc. So it is very, very rare that the only thing I'm doing there is going to the courthouse for survey research.
Other nearby courthouses are 29 miles, 31 miles, 35 miles, 47 miles, 48 miles, 50 miles and 52 miles. Yes, those all qualify as close by in my part of the world.
How close is the nearest Court House?FULL DISCLOSURE
Spledeus/Thadd and I didn't mention our closest coourt house because it's the district court about 2 miles down the road form me, maybe 7 from thadd.
I go there each seven years to get sworn at for my Notary licence, and a few times for collections, and other errr, hmmmm personal reasons; kid related mostly, not alcohol related. LOL.....It's our small town court, the sitting judge is the third in a family line. I've known and liked each of them since it's founding in the 70's....
A 30 minute drive
I don't go to the court house
I go to town hall, which I do believe there are 169+ of the in CT. The closet one being about a mile from my house.
I don't go to the court house
I know a surveyor who can buy all of the deed records from a county for $195 on a hard drive.
He charges $100 per hour each for himself and wife to do research.
You can buy all of the deed records, trust, and plat for Nueces County, Texas for $35. (Corpus Christi)

We're set up like you, centrally located and consider a 20 minute drive no big deal. We you, work in 4 counties on a regular basis and 3 other on a semi-regular basis (2-3 months between jobs). We choose to put our office at my partners house because it's 15-20 minutes to 3 of the steady counties courthouses. My house is 20 minutes from the 4th. The other 3 are 45-60 minutes from the office. I enjoy the break in my day most times. Just plan your day out, be organized and it isn't a big deal. We only use 3 counties online sites. 2 counties have such a confusing sites I just head over for research. The other counties are stuck in the past and aren't on line and don't foresee them heading there.
2 blocks
City offices - 6 blocks
Title Company - next door
County Planning and Zoning - 2 miles
it's in my chair
Everything you can get 15 miles away downtown you can get online. Haven't been to the actual building for a record in about 10 years.
