Picked up a total station promo flyer from Hilti tools this morning. They are advertising two total station models: POS 15 and POS 18.

The warranty deal sounded better than the model name.

  • 2 years @ no costs: parts, labor and shipping
  • Lifetime repair cost limit (30% of list price)
  • Lifetime manufacturer's warranty

"Quickly set-up

The laser plummet helps you set up over a reference point - virtually at the speed of light."

Ah, good ol' promotion literature!

Their website says something to the effect, "for the Construction Foreman, not the Surveyor."

🙂

It would behoove the marketing department to make one last check at "Urban Dictionary" before they formalize the naming of a new product :-O

Maybe they did, Jim...

From the site POS 18, a 3" instrument but NOT for surveyors...

"- Designed for skilled users from the trades, such as foremen, not surveyors"
