> Not all government websites are down...I was able to make a federal tax deposit at eftps.gov:-@
Yea, but my mail is already 2 hrs late and the newspaper was about 2 hrs late as well. But those are just quasi-government services, right? I guess they don't count.
They better not interrupt my garbage collection tomorrow, or the neighbors cats will be choking on some chicken bones along the double yellow line on Route 66.
Plus, I wonder if the Kardashians are inconvenienced through all this sillyness. Sometimes ya just wonder if that is more important to the masses

Calling from the International Space Station. Anyone home down there? Uh, hello????
Silly me
Just pulled one of those silly mistakes on myself. I had a link ready to go to look at old USGS maps. Thought I would kill a few minutes checking one out for where I lived 35 years ago. Hit the link and here is what came up.
Due to the Federal government shutdown, usgs.gov and most associated web sites are unavailable.

Please see doi.gov for more shutdown information.

"Only web sites necessary to protect lives and property will be maintained."
So what exactly does that mean? A server that runs on its own doesn't need to be maintained... Do you think they really turn them off?
Back to Surveying
I didn't realize how many locals use cors. Got a bunch of requests for data from my base today.
Government Shut Down- eLOMA is UP
They gotta keep the $25 reports being sent to Fanny and Freddy:-O
I heard:
"Only essential personal will be working."
Why do we have unessential personal in the first place?
Maybe that's part of the problem.
duh
The server at apod.nasa.gov is taking too long to respond.
They got me.
(I did notice that yesterdays picture was Chinese.)
Went to an office that deals with federal regulators on a daily basis. Never saw them so happy!:-)

It has become an art to throw a wrench in the machine in order to sit back and watch the time go by and to not have to do a damn thing and blame everything upon the heads of somebody else.
I just found this thread, so tried to get a datasheet as a test.?ÿ It worked as per usual.?ÿ Are others finding different?
it is actually against the law for him to do anything connected with his job while the shut down is happening.
