Now DON'T take this as gospel as I saw it on facebook, but saw this posted on a page that I am a member of

Virginia Tech has finally released their FREE Dendrology Android app...
type in VT Tree ID to find it... from what I have been told the Iphone version is coming soon

I don't have a driod/android but I thought this might be of help to some people.

I'm downloading it now. Make sure to use wifi if you have a data cap as it requires around 650mb to install.

This ia a great program. I don't have a cell phone either but if you go to the website of the developer you can run the program on a PC. The developer told me that the only difference between the programs was that the PC version didn't have the user's location input. He is planning to develop a clicable map this winter.

It seems like a good reference, but it's still not anywhere near as slick as LeafSnap, which uses a photo you provide to ID the tree. That one's still only available for iOS devices.
