I sold my 11c to force myself into the 35. After my Oregon exam I will sell the 35 back to the guy I bought it from and buy another 11c... I keep a 48gx on hand with an SMI card for when I want a little more storage.

HP48G.

Been using the same one since college in the 90's. Back then couldn't afford the GX. Have the app on my phone but the tiny little buttons don't dance well with my sausage fingers.

HP 42S. I have emulators on my PC's and my smart phone, and my real 42S in my drawer.

My brother and I were indoctrinated on the HP 11C some 35 years ago by my father, a forester. Ever since, I have not been able to work a “normal” calculator without retraining my brain. Bought the HP48 almost 25 years ago and it has been my trusty “go to” calculator for everything. I was able to get my younger daughter to use RPN, but I was too late with my older son. He keeps on wanting to find the equal sign.

Noticed no posts by Utah'ens and certain Idaho'ens.

Guessing they don't have much need for such things, being as the fence is always the boundary??

I was going to say anything cheap that does trig so I can throw a thousand of them everywhere,(I misplace things sometimes, and the best one for me is the one at hand)but that app looks amazing. Do you know if it's on Android?

M,

"Do you know if it's on Android?"

Yes, it is. Hit the link in my post above. The pic I show is the Construction Master face. You can toggle between it and the Pro Trig, which I use.

Curta and HP 41CX

On my desk and still using them!
Curta works when the batteries run down on the 41CX!

Why would anyone need anything more than pencil and paper?

Here's a pic showing the "Pro Trig" face. It handles either decimal degrees or degrees-minutes-seconds with ease. You can even mix differently formatted angles in a calculation.

hp made the better calculator by far, but you have to like rpn. It seems like people use it (RPN) and fall in love with it or they hate it. Seldom any in between. I have an hp15c, hp41CX, hp48SX. The 48GX is a bit more powerful than the sx, but if you're not using it as a data collector I like the SX, and has more memory, but they started making those in Singapore (some of the first-year 48gx's were made in the US I think. My old 48SX is made in the USA, and works very well. You can find better deals on those than the 48G's for the most part. the hp41, was the first very good, programmable calculator and easier than anything else to program with alpha-numeric typing. It is still easier to program than the 48 or almost any other computer program. Hp15 fits in your shirt pocket and is still a good, easy-to-use calculator.
