Living in the lower lat but higher in elevation, we get the Chinook winds and large variations in temperature. 51d high yesterday and 10d by 2 p.m. Little snow on top of the ice makes for walking in pig snot. Fell on my hip and forearm yesterday.:-O Beats being in the orfice!

I think that photo is shopped. There's no such thing as snow.

I've never seen it, therefore it doesn't exist.

Living on the Gulf does have it's advantages, except for the 95% humidity and lows in the mid 80's 10 months out of the year, but you get used to it. o.O

Warmed up here in Anchorage, +22 or so right now. Supposed to get into the low 40's this week. Might get some snow, probably would if I took my derned plow off the truck, PITA to maneuver city traffic with the extra 3-1/2' sticking out the front.

Stay warm!

I'm not sure how many winters out of the last 5 that have been like this, but I do know this is the worst one, all that global warming just isn't happening here, burr!!!!

Spent the first week in July in 2011 driving through tunnels of snow on the Beartooth and Dayton-Kane Highways, looks like it might be another one of those years. That would make them awful close together. The floods that year were pretty bad. Really unusual to see two years like that so close together.

Yes, all that snow pack will probably led to some Mississippi river flooding this year. Hope it is not like it was a couple years ago (2011??). That made a lot of S. LA folks real, real nervous.

I haven't heard if it's region wide or more local, I've heard we are above average, but we got tons of rain last fall, then lots of snow, reservoirs are full, and should be a good water year. Maybe not great for downstream areas if we get lots or rain.
