C3D Feature Line Layout

I was taught to export as an .dxf, but the newer version of access accepts .dwg now too. I'll have to revisit at the office this coming week as I'm headed out to more field work.

C3D feature lines are not exportable as a DXF without exploding them to a 3D poly line.?ÿ As for drawings, they will not come across in any non C3D file either.

I'm not where I can try it but could you possibly use Trimble Link and export the feature lines to an RXL file?

Understood.?ÿ My drafting is my weakest link.?ÿ I exported something that allowed me to see my TIN and points and breaklines, so Ill have to figure out what the hell I did there and get back with you. Im using a TSC7 too.

Im in C3D 2020 so not sure if that makes any differences either.

I believe you can turn them into alignments by first creating a quick profile of the feature line, then exporting that profile out as a LandXML file.

Will check with my coworkers, I'm pretty sure we have done it before...

If you have Sincpac this is stupid simple.?ÿ Without it it's more difficult but still doable.?ÿ Sincpac is worth the $300 if only for this one task.?ÿ Simply create the feature line with whatever geometry and elevations for whatever you're staking, it's important the elevations are PI's and not Elevation Points though.?ÿ Then you just select and right click on it and there's an option to create alignment/profile.?ÿ Then go to the output tab and export to LandXML and export the alignment & profile you just created.?ÿ Once you have the XML exported import that into Captivate as a road job then you have to import the line into your staking job from the road job.?ÿ We use this method to stake anything from pipe to curb to building envelopes.?ÿ It's sooooo much faster than quick lines.

I've used Sincpac and it is worth the money, generally. But if you have C3d you can create an alignment and profile from the feature line, export?ÿ it to Land XML, and load that in most data collectors for staking.
