Bought a couple of Carlson Explorer 2s

but all they have on them is a serial port. I was helping out a buddy who needed to sell them, but my cpus don't have serial ports. Does anyone have a serial to usb cord that is working with this setup you could recommend?

I have heard here that Belkin adapters work. I had a serial port installed in the desktop. Not a big deal. Probably more reliable.

I went to Fry's electronics and bought a serial to USB adapter for an old HP48GX and it worked fine.
